Gentle and nurturing, Gaea is the beloved goddess of the earth. Like Prometheus, she loves and cares for the humans.
Her rage with Zeus began when he banished and imprisoned several of her Titan sons in the lowest part of the Underworld, Tartarus.
In Tartarus, she visits Prometheus and explains to him the terrible suffering of mankind, for she is able to feel their great pain. She knows that without Prometheus’ warm compassion, humanity will be doomed.
